1. SECURITY

1.1. UK Nursing may direct you (“you”, “authorised user”) to suppliers and advertisers offering goods and services, which are available to be bought online and in some cases by phone or in store. It is these retailers and advertisers that are responsible to you for the security of transactions. Members can be reassured that while we do not offer purchasing from within this site we are rigorous in our selection of retailers and advertisers.

1.2. UK Nursing exercises great care in providing transmission of member contact information between your PC and our servers. However no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and as a result, while we strive to protect personal information, UK Nursing can't ensure or warrant the security of any information a user may transmit to us and members do so at their own risk. Once we receive information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.

1.3. Registered members must immediately inform UK Nursing if there is any reason to believe that a user ID or password has or is likely to become known to someone not authorised to use it or is being or is likely to be used in an unauthorised way. Click here to contact us.

1.4. Registered members are responsible for the security and proper use of all user IDs and passwords used in connection with any UK Nursing websites and must take all necessary steps to ensure that they are kept confidential, secure, used properly and not disclosed to unauthorised people.

1.5. Members must not change or attempt to change a user ID. In the case where a user has forgotten or lost a password or user ID they must contact UK Nursing and satisfy such security checks as UK Nursing may operate. Click here to contact us.

1.6. UK Nursing reserves the right to suspend user ID and password access to the website if at any time UK Nursing considers that there is or is likely to be a breach of security.

1.7. UK Nursing reserves the right (at its sole discretion) to require members to change any or all of the passwords used by you in connection with the website.

1.8. Members must immediately inform UK Nursing of any changes to the information supplied when registering – where this facility is provided, this can be achieved by updating your profile appropriately via online forms.

2. LIABILITY

2.1. UK Nursing is not liable, either in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise for direct or indirect loss of profits, business or anticipated savings, nor for any indirect or consequential loss or damage or for any destruction of data.

3. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

At UK Nursing we take your privacy seriously.

Personally Identifiable Information

The reason we collect personal information is to allow us to provide members with the best and most useful content and services.

When you register we collect information that allows us to monitor and improve our retail service as well as provide customer support in the case of lost passwords and log-in problems.

Cookies

Cookies are used by many web sites to improve overall data reporting as well as to provide better and more personalised web services. Cookies are contained within your web browser and are triggered when you enter a web site. As a registered member cookie information may be used to automatically log you in to our website when revisiting, and provide us with a date of last entry. Overall, cookies must be enabled on your PC as the technology we use to log member sessions on our site is reliant on those privacy settings. The cookie entered onto your PC when visiting UK Nursing is only able to be accessed by our site, and we cannot read any other cookies from other sites on your machine.

Web Bugs & Servers

We may use technologies, including electronic images known as web bugs - sometimes called transparent GIFs, clear GIFs, or beacons - that allow us to track general user traffic patterns. We also automatically receive and record information from our servers and from your browser, including your IP address, the time of your visit to pages on our site, and information about pages you visited.

We may use cookies and tracking technologies in a variety of ways, including:

  • Keeping count of return visits to our site or our advertisers' or partners' sites
  • Accumulating and reporting anonymous, aggregate (data collected in mass), statistical information on website and advertisement usage
  • Determining which features our overall user population likes best
  • Saving your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our sites
  • Display the most appropriate advertising based on your interests
  • To fulfil your requests for certain products and services, such as sending out electronic newsletters and enabling users to participate in polls, contests and forums.

Third-Party Advertisement Servers

We occasionally run banner ad campaigns or track links from third party advertisers, such as DoubleClick and TradeDoubler. Some of our advertisers use third-party companies to serve their advertisements on our sites and, in some cases, in our HTML-formatted newsletters. In both cases, these third-party advertising companies employ cookie and web bug technologies to measure advertisement effectiveness. We do not give any personally identifiable information to them as part of this relationship. Unless you visit the website of these companies and provide them with personally identifiable information about yourself, these tracking technologies tell those advertisers nothing about who you are. Our advertisers' use of tracking technology is subject to their own privacy policies. If in doubt about any of this please do not hesitate to contact us with regard to a particular campaign, and we will endeavour to answer any questions you have.

We do not make any personally identifiable information available to other companies or individuals. We do aggregate information to demonstrate overall trends and preferences of the member base with advertisers and other third parties for marketing, promotional and other purposes. We do not disclose to these entities any information that could be used to identify you personally.

Users have to opt-in to receive our electronic newsletters or those of third parties when registering. Users who opt-in may remove themselves from mailing lists at any time through the update my profile page or by following the instructions at the end of the email they received from us.

A certain level of personal information is required when registering with our site and opting not to provide this information will mean that you will not be able to utilise certain areas of our products or services.

As a registered member you can update your personally identifiable details in “Update my Profile”. Members can change their information at any time and as often as necessary. This is especially important if you change your email address. Where this facility does not currently exist please email notice of any changes to useradmin@uk-nursing.com identifying your registered email address and the specific site you have registered with along with changes you require to your account.

If our privacy policy changes we will reflect the changes in this Website Policies document. It is your responsibility to check for updates in the Privacy and User Terms & Conditions within the Website Policies before using the site.
